There isn’t a lot of variety in this list as far as mangaka go, but that’s fine, right? I can’t fault them for being good at what they do.
Aida Saki & Yamada Yugi: Tired of Waiting for Love [5.0] – This series appears in four out of the first five The Nines posts. I love it so much, but it’s now banned from future posts. Can it possibly fit into anymore categories?
Hori Tomoki: Crimson Snow [4.0] – For the longest time, I couldn’t get over Hori’s art. I just loved Kazuma’s expressions. There’s something about retired or reformed yakuza that just pulls at my heartstrings.
Natsume Isaku: Sugar Code [4.3] – I’m completely in love with Odoi-san.
Natsume Isaku: Tight Rope [4.0] – I can’t get enough of characters who go into a blind rage when they think their beloved has been hurt in some way.
Nishida Higashi: Negai Kanae Tamae V01-V03 [4.5] – I like crazy. When it’s done right, it’s a wild, humbling, and fascinating thing. It can easily become an outlandish display of incongruent characteristics just smashed together with no regard for harmony or syncopation or style, but Nishida has a way with the wayward.
Yoneda Kou: NightS [4.7] Transporter-kun and Masaki-san … I feel so bad for Karashima … falling for such a guy.
Yoneda Kou: Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai V01 [?.?] – This is so good, that it gets included on one of my lists when the series isn’t even complete.
